Congress of the People calls upon President Zuma to take stern action against Deputy Minister Bheki Cele.

In a statement COPE said if he fails to act against him, he will have said to all of us that his government condones rogue behaviour.

COPE expresses its surprise that police Minister Nathi Nthleko has not sprung to the defence of the Commissioner.

Cope’s Spokesperson Dennis Bloem said Bhekis Cele must hang his head in shame, he must accept that his no longer the police Commissioner.

Bloem said what he did was utterly unacceptable and COPE condemns it very strongly.

“We are calling on the President to take action against Bheki Cele because this is not done, he will send out a wrong message which says each and every one can do such an act.” Bloem added.
