The South African Municipal Workers Union in the Cape Metro has condemned incidents of racism at Technical Operations Centre.

According to Samwu an investigation into this was conducted and found that black workers were racially prejudiced by the white management and black supervisors were demoted.

TOC has scheduled a meeting for the 16th of April to introduce the new management, however Samwu said no employee should be forced to attend the meeting.

Samwu Regional Secretary Mikel Khumalo says the news came as a surprise because ever since the investigation which was conducted in 2010 by commissioner Miles after some way raised the allegations for racism at that workplace.

There were certain recommendations that were put forward out of that particular report, Khumalo added.
