Western Cape MEC for Community Safety, Dan Plato,
hosted the Mitchells Plain leg of the Policing Needs and Priorities
determination consultation session, on Friday.
The engagements took the format of a two-day
consultative workshop and included representatives of the South African Police
Service, Municipalities, Community Police Forums, Community Safety Forums, NGO’s
and Community based organisations.
This weekend’s consultation sessions forms part of
the annual determination of the policing needs and priorities in the province
which will see the Department of Community Safety holding public consultation
sessions for each of the 16 police clusters between May and October this year.
