The National Sea Rescue Institute managed to rescue four fishermen who were fishing at anchor off- shore when their boat appeared to get heavier in the water to the point where water was lapping over the transom into their boat yesterday.
According to reports they immediately requested a nearby fishing trawler to pick them up as their boat appeared to be sinking.
“On our arrival at the scene that was confirmed that all four fishermen were safe and not injured,” said NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon
They were picked by the local trawler to the Simonstown harbour and the sinking of the trawler will be investigated by South African Marathon Safety said Lambinon.
