A provincial traffic officer was shot and wounded during an armed robbery at a garage last night.
The officer was walking to an engine garage on the N1 highway in Kraaifontein when the accident occured.
“Two men were busy robbing the garage and they open a fire on the officer,”said Police spokesperson Superintendent Endries Crous
They shot the officer in an abdominal area and he was rushed in a local hospital and now he is on a stable condition, said Crous.
The suspect fled the scene.
