DA slams ANC for benefiting from the energy crisis

The Democratic Alliance has accused ruling party, the African National Congress of benefiting from the national energy crisis.

DA’s Sejamothopo Motau says this is done through the ruling party’s front company Chancellor House, which recently bought the major Swazi coal mine.

The mine is allegedly set to supply coal to several power plants.

Motau says this means the ANC stands to profit from higher electricity tariffs, and from the state’s World Bank loan deal.

The DA has once again called for the shut down of Chancellor House.

The opposition party says the Chancellor House is a front company that is enriching the ANC through questionable means.
