Western Cape Premier Helen Zille says that there has been an increase in tourism numbers over the past festive season .

Zille says that the tourism sector in the
Western Cape remains an important contributor to the province's economy.

She also mentioned that the number of international arrivals rocketed by 27 percent and that tourism arrivals from the rest of
Africa
went up by 16 percent.

However Zille says it is not always factual that the beauty of an area means that tourism numbers will rise.
