The Democratic Alliance has urged President Jacob Zuma to clarify reports that he mislead parliament.
These allegations follow the statement that the president has a bond on his private residence in Nkandla.
The DA believes that this has a negative reflection on the office of the presidency, and that it warrants immediate consideration by the National Assembly.
DA’s Siviwe Gwarube said she will be writing to the speaker of the national assembly Mr Max Sisulu to urge him for clarification from the President as they will seriously risk bring Parliament into disrepute.
It is important that the president be provided with the opportunity to clarify the accuracy of the report and it is trusted that Mister Sisulu will be addressing it with a matter of urgency.
If it is failed it will cast a shadow over the comments made by the President before parliament.
