The Commission for Gender Equality said in a statement on
Thursday 26 October 2012 it felt gender discrimination was the new

The commission has disscussed he high levels of gender-based violence with Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Women, Children and People with Disabilities and said it is awaiting feedback on its request to speed up the gender equality bill, so that equality for women in the workplace can be formalised.

commission's Javu Baloyi said discrimination was still rife on the streets and
in the workplace.
Baloyi said gender discrimination issues should be taken more seriously.
