The office of deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas
says his life is not in danger.
Jonas had allegedly received death threats after speaking
out against alleged state capture.
In March, Jonas claimed he had been approached by
the Gupta family to be offered the position of finance minister.
The deputy minister’s spokesperson Phumza Macanda
says Jonas does not feel his life is in danger.
Macanda says she has no recollection of the
minister telling journalists he’s received death threats.
The Deputy Minister also explained he had not made
a written submission to the African National Congress’s state capture
investigation, because his views on the Guptas are already known.
