A family was left homeless after the blaze destroyed their home in Plender Avenue, Athlone yesterday.
They smelt something burning and when they looked there were flames all over.
There were six people in the house, but they all managed to run away.
Neighbours tried to distinguish the fire but it was too late.
Inspector Bennet from Athlone police station said, “The fire was distinguished around 6-7 o’clock yesterday”.
The family lost everything and supporting counselling will be offered to them.
