Two cases of fraud against the Western Cape funeral parlours were opened last month.
These funeral parlours are allegedly defrauding their clients by claiming to have cremated their loved ones when they had no done so.
Captain Gerhard Niemand said, “One family come to the police station to complain against Domenic Funerals in Kraaifontein that their son who supposed to be cremated was still on their cold rooms”.
It was a body of a biker, 19 who was killed in a motorbike accident in Tableview more than three months ago and his family was given what they believed were his ashes.
In other case a body was found Northpine funeral parlour, whose family was also given what it was called the ashes of their beloved one.
The fraud case against the owner was opened and the owner of Domenic Funeral is facing six cases of fraud.
