As the global community celebrates Nelson Mandela’s 91st birthday, local authorities are honouring the living icon’s request to devote 67 minutes to doing something positive.
Kraaifontein police is doing their bit by feeding the destitute residents of the area today.
“As Kraaifontein police station, we are going out into the community to hand out soup. This is part of the Mandela Day celebration,” said Captain Gerhard Niemand from the station.
“ We are also doing this to honour the request to do something good for 67 minutes,” said Niemand.
