Residents of Makhaza gathered at the Harare police station today, complaining of what they call an "inappropriate arrest” by the police.
Police arrested six community members in the area last night.
The six are facing charges of assault after a woman reported the case to police yesterday.
The angry residents said they were not going anywhere until the suspects are released.
SAPS Spokesperson Superintendent Nel confirmed that the residents were still protesting outside the station.
