Angry residents from Happy Valley blockaded roads, stoned vehicles and set fire to portable toilets. At about 4am this morning police were called in to assist.

The protest is about the bad service delivery and leadership in the area. The protesters burned tires and threw stones at the police. Police fired rubber bullets but no one was injured.

Police spokesperson November Filander said police fired rubber bullets at the crowds but no one was arrested.

“Police are still monitoring the situation” said Filander.
