Swift action has been taken by Woodstock police following the arrest of 2 men in Observatory for theft of a motor vehicle early this morning.
Police responded quickly to the complaint and apprehended the men minutes later in Polo road. Police spotted the vehicle with the assistance of the owner.
As the police approached the vehicle, one of the men fled on foot but did not manage to evade capture.
The second suspect was caught when he attempted to hide from the police.
According to Sergeant Hilton Malila, the two suspects broke the ignition of the car to drive it away.
The two suspects are in police custody and will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate Court on Monday. They face a charge of motor vehicle theft.
