Female driver dies in accident

A female driver died and a passenger seriously injured when her car smashed into the rear of a heavy goods vehicle along Power drive near the Rand Airport late last night.
The truck is believed to have entered an industrial premise when the car hurtled into the back of the truck.
Netcare 911 found the remains of the car pinned under the truck with the occupants still trapped in the twisted metal.
It took fireman over an hour to free the injured from the wreckage. The female driver was tragically killed on impart.
The injured passenger was transported by ambulance to the Natal Spruit hospital.
