Lusanda Bill
25 July 2010
The Congress of the People has suspended all coalition talks with other opposition parties.
Cope fears that because in its state of dysfunctional and divided state it could be swallowed up by another party.
Cope’s deputy president stated that the party’s main goal now is to build branches and profile and to make sure that the party is clear of what it stands for.
Mbhazima Shilowa was reported as saying that it would be untruthful for the party to enter into a political coalition which would be an anti-ANC alliance.
Cope has been going through a rough time in the past few weeks, but yet the party still has strong support especially in the Eastern Cape.
