National Police Commissioner, General Bheki Cele has called on police officials across the country to “go the extra mile” this festive season.
Cele says the end of year holidays are a time when most South Africans slow down and relax with friends and families.
He says however that police officials should know that the festive season is their busiest time of the year.
The South African Police Service will launch Operation: “Duty Calls” later this week.
The campaign aims to make the country safer over the holidays.
