President Zuma congratulates Obama

President Jacob Zuma has, on behalf of South Africa, congratulated President Barack Obama on his re-election as President of the United States of America.

Presidential Spokesperson Mac Maharaji said the President said South Africa values its relations with the United States and look forward to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the years to come.

Maharaji added that Zuma also reiterated that the United States had an important role to play in Africa's development.

Delivering his victory speech in Chicago President Barack Obama said he believes Americans can build on the progress they’ve made and continue to fight for new jobs, new opportunities and new security for the middle class.
