South African Banking Risk Information concerned over security breach

The South African Banking Risk Information Centre, Sabric,  is concerned over a security breach that led to personal bank card details being leaked and personal accounts being hacked.

 According to officials, the breach occurred at a company that handles online transactions.

Sabric’s Susan Potgieter said that security breaches in the banking sector are not common in South Africa.

Potgieter adds that Sabric are urging all data collectors to have the best possible security measures in place.

And said that it is everyone’s responsibility who handles date to make sure that they are taking care of the data they are working with and also look after the consumers by taking the necessary precautions.
