A 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly beating his brother to death with a knobkerrie, Free State police said yesterday.

The man's 31-year-old brother was found lying in his bed with the sheets soaked in blood on Saturday, said Constable Peter Kareli.

He said a fight ensued which resulted in the older brother allegedly hitting his sibling with a knobkerrie on the head, leaving him bleeding.

The man was discovered by a concerned neighbour who had not seen him for a number of days, said Kareli.

The man's brother was later arrested in Botshabelo outside Bloemfontein.

He would appear in the Thaba 'Nchu, Magistrate’s Court soon, said Kareli.
