Strand parents alarmed by abduction attempts at some schools

Some Strand parents say they are terrified following reports of kidnapping attempts of learners at some schools in the area.

The Western Cape Education Department last week confirmed two Rusthof Primary learners narrowly escaped abduction after they were approached by an unknown woman in a minibus.

There’ve been several claims and rumours on social media of more near-kidnappings at schools across the province.

Parents gathered at the entrance of Rusthof Primary this morning, to ensure that all learners entered the school gates safely.

A concerned parent, who walks her Grade Two daughter to school, says recent incidents are alarming.

Parents at both schools say measures have to be implemented to ensure their children's safety.
