President Jacob Zuma has reiterated that South Africa's success in hosting of the World Cup meant that the country could host other major sporting events, including the Olympics.

Zuma says as the country has the resources and infrastructure, he would support an Olympic bid and he adds that it would be important for Africa.

The President says the hosting of the World Cup has taught government how to work with strict timelines.
