CPT Mayor Patricia de Lille saddened by boat accident

Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille has expressed her deepest condolences to the man who died in Saturday’s boat accident.

The National Sea Rescue Institute’s Craig Lambinon has confirmed that 38 people were on board the charter boat Miroshga when it capsized.

Mayor Patricia de Lille’s spokesperson Solly Malatsi said the mayor is grateful to the rescue and disaster response teams who went beyond the call of duty to save the other passengers of the boat.

Western Cape MEC of Tourism Alan Winde has called upon the South African Maritime Safety Authority to investigate the boat accident.
