DA calls for investigation into the failure of maintenance courts

Lusanda Bill
14 October 2012

The Democratic Alliance has asked Public Protector Thuli Madonsela to investigate the failure of maintenance courts.

DA’s Cameron Arendse said under the investigation, the Public Protector is urged to lodge a full-scale examination on the Department of Justice and Constitutional development.

Arendse added this would provide immediate and satisfactory relief to maintenance beneficiaries who rely on this for financial support.

Meanwhile parliament is preparing to investigate Public Protector Thuli Madonsela following her two dossiers from within her office, questioning the manner she runs the Chapter 9 institution.
