EC nurse appears in court on rape charges

An Eastern Cape male nurse appeared in court in Matatiele today for allegedly raping a pregnant patient at a hospital in Mount Fletcher last week.
The 25-year-old woman was in hospital after experiencing complications during her pregnancy.
Provincial health department spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo says the 45-year-old man has been suspended, pending the court case.
The suspect will not be allowed to have contact with patients until investigations are completed.
