26 drivers arrested for drunk driving during WC roadblocks

Western Cape traffic officials conducted 24 roadblocks over the weekend. 

2, 587 vehicles were stopped at these roadblocks, 1, 225 drivers were tested for alcohol.

Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said 26 drivers were arrested for drunk driving, 21 pedestrians were arrested for being on the freeway on the N1, and 3 drivers were arrested for overloading their vehicles. 

Africa added that around R170, 000 fines were issued during the roadblocks.
