The Services Sector Education and Training Authority is today holding a Skills Symposium in Cape Town to try and tackle issues of employment for graduating students.

Minister of Higher Education and Training Blade Nzimande gave symposium’s keynote address.

Services Seta’s Deidre Penfold says the Cape Chamber of Commerce has agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding whereby businesses agree to place graduating students in internships, apprenticeships and  learnerships.

Deidre says what concerns them is a huge number of unemployed graduates.
