Construction worker died in City

A construction worker believed to be in his late twenties died on Wednesday while he was working in a trench on a construction site in Park Lane in Cape Town.  

It is believed that when the trench collapsed the ground had knocked the construction worker forward and knocking his head on the concrete pillar. 

ER24’s Derrick Banks when emergency services arrived on the scene, a concrete pillar had collapsed while the worker was using a jackhammer.

“Once freed, the patient was assessed and found to have sustained serious injuries to his neck and back region and was declared dead on the scene” Banks added.
