The Unemployed People’s Movement said President Jacob Zuma has not take serious action on violence against women.

UPM Spokesperson Ayanda Kota said the country has been reeling with the shock at the ongoing rape and violence against women.

Kota said they expected President Zuma in his State of the Nation Address to talk more about rape and corruption in the country.

Kota said the President should have used the time and the resources to make sure they fight with the abuse of women and children in the country, but instead the he had to dwell more on the protests.

He added that for the president to talk about protests it was unnecessary since in all the protests only the protestors are killed not the police and even in those circumstances it’s the police that provoke the people.
