Western Cape African National Congress Leader Marius Fransman has called for a full and extensive investigation into the alleged assault and attempted murder of a farm labourer in the Graafwater area.

Fransman said it is totally unacceptable that farm labourers are still treated like slaves in this age where they are beaten at will.

ANC’s Billy Claassen said the alleged suspect needs to be arrested because it is not the first time such allegations are brought against him.

Claassen added that as the ANC they urged big shops not to buy his from him and the police need to act fast in this case.
