The Western Cape Health Department has
urged the public to be conscious of their health as from the beginning of
November to the end of May it is diarrhoea season.
MEC of Health Theuns Botha said death as a
result of diarroea and dehydration is totally preventable.
The province has seen a significant drop in
the number of deaths caused by diarrhoea.
Departmental Spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto said
As from November through to the end of May it is a danger time for diarrhoea.
“Wash your hands to prevent diarrhoea and things
that cause illness are dirty water, broken toilets, rubbish and contaminated
food,” Otto added.
