Eastern Cape police today arrested six suspects who are between 20 and 40-years-old for murder.

The suspects are believed to have assaulted and murdered a 65-year-old man.

The assault happened in Umthatha.  Police Spokesperson Mzukisi Fatyela said the 65 year old man was accused of stock theft.

After he was beaten we did not find anything from him, the police have arrested six people and more arrests are imminent as we believe that there was a strong group of people who assaulted the victim and murdered him,” Fatyela added.
