The Democratic Alliance has raised its concern regarding the signing into law of the Restitution of Land Rights Amendment Bill and the Property Valuation Bill.

DA MP of Rural Development and Land Reform, Thomas Walters, said President Jacob Zuma did not adequately communicate with Members of Parliament regarding the petition.

Furthermore, Walters felt this was a poorly drafted Act that was not good for anyone concerned.
According to the DA MP of Rural Development and Land Reform, the Act will take a long time to return land to claimants.

MEC Walters reiterated, “the Act is flawed; bad for both beneficiaries and people whose land is under claim.”
