FIFA’s private jet was found amongst those who blocked and refused to move for domestic flights at King-Shaka International Airport.
Hundreds of fans missed the Soccer World Cup semi-final between Spain and Germany on Wednesday night because three domestic planes were not allowed to land due to congested parking bays at King Shaka International Airport.
The problem arised when private jets carrying VIP’s did not want to move their aircrafts to Durban International Airport. As a result domestic flights was unable to land returning to Johannesburg and Cape Town respectively.
ACSA's Bongiwe Pityi said that the company planned to fine the owners of at least seven aircrafts.
