A snake rescued from sangoma

The South African Police alerted the SPCA to investigate a parcel that a sangoma was keeping in Nyanga.

The python which is the largest snake in South Africa who arrived in Cape Town two weeks ago from Kwa-Zulu Natal alongside Sangoma Siyabanga Mthethwa.

Mthethwa used the snake to communicate to the ancestors to sell advise on the World Cup and charms.

SPCA Wildlife Unit Inspector Brett Glasby says the snake has been malnourished with an infection in the mouth, pneumonia and is extremely dehydrated.

The snake has been brought into the province without a permit and is now in the care of the SPCA.
