Three prisoners die during jail breakout in Congo

On Thursday thirty-one prisoners staged a daring jail breakout which ended in the death of three prisoners and one seriously injured in ensuing police action in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Media reports say the breakout occurred at 4am this morning when inmates burned down a building in the prison.

Thirty-one prisoners escaped and 15 have been recaptured and the others are still on the run.
