The National Sea Rescue Institute
was today called to sea after a 36-year-old man suffered a heart attack.
The man was on board the Viking Fishing Stern Trawler African Queen, at Cape
Point. African Queen.
NSRI’s Craig Lambinon said an
immediate helicopter rescue mission was authorized.
Emergency Services doctor Clive Hendricks stabilised the
patient on board the vessel.
Lambinon added
that the rescue operation was made difficult by the rough weather.
The 36-year-old man is in a stable
but serious condition at the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital .
