The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union has called on the Department of Transport and SANRAL to immediately invest in the upgrading of Moloto Road in Mpumalanga to turn it into a modern highway facility that can cater for the economic needs of the community in that corridor.

This comes after a bus accident claimed the lives of 29 people on Monday.

Satawu Spokesperson Vincent Masoga said due to the long distance of that road the l city of Tshwane and government must implement their long promised commuter rail facility through PRASA.

Masoga said Satawu would like to send condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

He added that a solution needs to found about the Moloto road because that is a road of death.
