Nurses in and around Guateng from various hospitals today marched to the South African Nursing Council offices in Pretoria.

They marched to table their grievances on several issues relating to conditions health professionals are forced to work under.

Acting Provincial Secretary of the Democratic Nursing Organization of South Africa Simphiwe Gada said SANC must not turn a blind eye on negative practice environment.

Gada added that one of the main mandates of SANC is to protect the public interest when it comes to health service.

“As Denosa we have adopted a campaign that we call it a positive practice environment and we are of the view that some cannot do a good job in protecting the public because there are many negative things that are happening in the workplace, when we report them SANC does follow it through” Gada said.
