The National Education Health and Allied
Workers Union said it supports the Creative Workers Union of South Africa’s
appeal to the Constitutional Court against the judgement by the Supreme Court
regarding royalty payments to performers and record companies.
Nehawu Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said this
more than a workers labour issue but talks to the struggle for the reversal of
Western Cultural that is being imposed on South Africans.
Pamla said we think that artist’s
themselves to regard themselves as workers.They have to be more united in order
to get rid of the individualist nature.
“We support the appeal against the judgment
by the Supreme Court regarding royalty payments.We are urging all South
Africans to come together and support local artist in just and fair manner
Pamla added.
