Pedestrian knocked over and killed in Randburg

A pedestrian was on Thursday killed after he was knocked over by a vehicle on Judges Street in Cresta, Randburg. 

ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said they found the pedestrian who is believed to be in his twenties lying in the middle of the road in a critical condition. 

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.

Vermaak said paramedics on scene treated him for his head injuries as well as initiating CPR as his vital signs deteriorated.

Vermaak said when they received a pulse back they managed to rush him through to the Chris Hani Hospital. Moments later upon arrival at the Hospital he was declared dead.

The driver of the vehicle sustained no physical injuries but he was clearly in shock and was later transported to the hospital for further medical management Vermaak added.
