Officials from the department of International Relations and Cooperation say a right-wing group that burnt the South African flag during a protest in Sweden is not supported by that nation’s government.
Spokesperson Nomfanelo Kota says members of the Swedish Resistance Movement held a demonstration calling for an end to what they call the “genocide of white people” in the country.
They marched to the South African embassy in Stockholm last week.
Protestors carried the Vier Kleur flags and a portrait of slain AWB leader Eugene Terre’Blanche.
Kota described their behaviour as regrettable as it does not represent stance of the Swedish people.
