Former principal found dead at residence

A case of murder is being investigated after a retired high school principal was found dead by his wife at their Hopefield residence on the west coast.
Details around the incident are still unclear but police spokesperson Dian Lourens says it seems as if the deceased was trying to stop an intruder from gaining entry to their house.
She added that a shot was fired.
