The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union say their members are being exploited by the re-militarisation of the police.
Popcru had a meeting yesterday, calling on its members to march to the ANC headquarters, to address the issue.
General secretary Nkosinathi Theledi says the implementation of the new police ranks does not only pose a threat to Popcru, but also to the South African community.
Theledi says the new police ranking system is in contrast to what the constitution requires.
