Multiple people injured after truck and bus collided

With the heavy rainfall this morning a number of accidents were reported.

A bus and truck collided in Parow at the corners of Industrial and Ring Roads.

The bus allegedly impacted the truck head on.

ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson says the three occupants of the tuck sustained minor to moderate injuries while the ten to fifteen occupants of the bus all sustained minor injuries.

“All of the patients on scene were transported to local hospitals by ER24 medics as well as other emergency service ambulances,” Jackson said.


She says the absolute cause of the incident is unknown, but the local police department, as well as traffic police was on scene to assess.

Meanwhile a man was killed in a hit and run accident in the intersection of Phoenix Highway and Eastbury, while a 52yr old man has sustained serious injuries after a passing vehicle side swiped the driver’s door as the man was about to climb out.

And a driver of a heavy goods truck is in a serious condition after his truck overturned on the Tugela river bridge last night.
