President Jacob Zuma says the release of the four South African peace keepers who had been kidnapped in Sudan is the best Freedom Day gift the country and the families of the hostages could have received.
Zuma was instrumental in liaising with the United Nations, Sudanese Government and other structures to secure the release of the four men.
The President wished the men well as they cope with the emotional trauma. He also congratulated them for their bravery and resilience. The Presidency says arrangements are being made for their return home.
