A man in his thirties, died after being hit by a car on the N1, just before the Okavango Road turn-off, in the direction of Paarl.
The impact knocked the pedestrian out of his shoes and resulted in significant damage to the front left side of the car. The man sustained severe trauma and was dead on arrival of emergency services.
The patient's body was lying in the middle of the two outgoing lanes and vehicles were directed up the yellow lane, this resulted in traffic backing up for around three kilometres.
