Former Police Commissioner Jackie Selebi was found guilty of corruption last week after a four year investigation.
The Police Ministry now says Jackie Selebi will have to pay back his legal fees, but only after a lengthy appeal process.
Selebi’s legal bill amounts to about 14-point-five-million-Rand.
Ministry spokesperson Zweli Mnisi says Selebi may not have to pay back the full amount, as he was found not guilty of defeating the ends of justice. Selebi faces sentencing in two weeks.
